The port of Le Verdon sits in the entry to the Gironde estuary which is where the Garonne River and its tributaries meet the Atlantic Ocean. Both beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag award for cleanliness and facilities, and both beaches are supervised during the summer months. Please don’t forget to come back to whatsinport.com for new and updated port guides. Check with your cruise line if shuttles to the ferry will be provided. There are no taxis, the only way off the ship on ones own is by ferry to Royan, which is at least a 75 minute walk away.
Transportation from Le Verdon to Bordeaux
Itinerary just says "San Juan" and no port address to figure it out. From what we've been able to read it seems that ships embarking from San Juan will use the Pan Am port, but for a port of call short visit they tend to use the ones on the Old San Juan side. Depart from Nice or Cannes for a day filled with azure seas and glamorous towns along the French Riviera. Discover the art of perfume making in Grasse or lounge on the sandy beaches of Saint-Tropez. Journey from Toulouse or Montpellier into the historic heart of Languedoc.

The first Medoc vineyard was created in the 16th century, while most vineyards were established by the mid-18th century. As early as 1730, topping up of casks (to compensate for headspace/ullage) and racking were introduced to keep the wines longer. If your flight arrives late in the evening on the night before your cruise, it is easiest to stay near the airport.
Terminals and Pontoons
In Bilbao, there were taxis available right outside the port building, that worked very well. It was difficult to get any information beforehand; you got into port, then you got to find out how easy or difficult things would be. Realize this is several months late to the party - but any hints or tips on how to find that specific details about where the ship will physically be docking? Small beach town with some shops and lovely beach with water, although if you're goin in October may be too chilly for a beach day. It's about a 2hr ride there each way, so 4 hours of your 7 hour tour will be spent sitting on a bus. For us, we said we would skip Bordeaux proper until we're there on a river cruise or land trip.
Attractions in Le Verdon-Sur-Mer (bordeaux), France
Fort Lauderdale is one of Royal Caribbean’s busiest ports, home to some of the fleet’s most popular ships. Due to its proximity to the Caribbean, cruises from Fort Lauderdale visit many of the region’s most popular destinations in the Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean, including Mexico, Aruba, and the Bahamas. So can anyone confirm if such an option was available on your trips? We're fine with just getting into town and wandering to a few wine bars instead of a vineyard visit, but would need to figure out how to get to city center. Or we just suck it up and do a 'lesser' NCL tour, or pay the hefty price for a private one that is more inline with what we wanted to see/do.
Shipping Connections
The drive from the airport to port should only take around 10 or 15 minutes. Indulge in gourmet tours and wine tastings in Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France. Explore the Beaujolais and Côtes du Rhône vineyards for an immersive experience in one of the world's most revered wine regions.

And I've read that the tourist info center in Bordeaux has tours to near by chateaux. As for the trip to Bordeaux from Le Verdon, I'll likely stay on the ship as it cruises the river. It sounds rather unusual, plus there are some lighthouses and other things along the shore I'm interested in, so I'll just relax and enjoy the trip. In Le Verdon, assuming we're allowed off the ship, and there's a shuttle to Soulac, I'll go there and just nose around. I'm pretty easily entertained, and love doing things on my own (or with spouse) and taking pictures, finding things of interest, etc. Plage de la Côte Sauvage is a stunning beach located near Le Verdon-Sur-Mer (bordeaux), France.
I had created a whole thread dedicated to our day there in Le Verdon, with maps and info on the shuttles that were available as well as the private tour we ended up doing. But it looks like CC deleted it since then as I can no longer find it. The vibrant energy of Aix-en-Provence is your starting point to explore the wider region of Provence. Visit the coastal town of Cassis, Avignon's papal palace, and the stunning lavender fields at Valensole for truly picturesque experiences. Aside from a pay shuttle bus that may or may not be offered when you visit, there is no transport to and from the port. That leaves visitors either staying onboard the ship, heading on an excursion or having to go on a long walk with little return on your effort at the end.
It is a long stretch of white sand beach with crystal clear waters and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and beach activities. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for visitors to enjoy. The beach is also a great spot for fishing and other water sports. Found on the tip of the Gironde Estuary at Point de Grave is the port of Le Verdon. With its fertile soil and excellent weather conditions, this town is part of a region that produces some of the world's best wines in varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
As you will likely arrive tired from a late flight, staying in an exciting neighborhood isn’t totally necessary. Dania Beach and Edgewood are two Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods close to the airport and Port Everglades, each with a variety of hotel options. Depending on the booking situation, various excursions are also offered in German, Spanish, French, Italian or Russian (minimum number of 30 participants). Please see the detailed information for your shore excursion on board. I did a trip which included the wine museum and time on our own.
Generally, the closer a parking lot is to the terminal, the more expensive the daily parking fee will be. We recommend a rideshare service or taxi over a shuttle bus, though, especially in Fort Lauderdale, as the port is extremely close to the airport. Not only do prices of taxis and rideshares tend to be quite low from Port Everglades to the Fort Lauderdale airport, but you will not have to wait for a shuttle bus to fill up before leaving. As the airport is located so close to the port, it is recommended to take a taxi or use a rideshare service to Port Everglades, which usually comes at a cost of $12-20.

From there, you can go to the tourist info center to inquire about tours, although I don't know if they include long tours which go to Bordeaux. On our cruise, excursions are being offered for our stop in Le Verdon which include a visit to a winery. At around 4, when the ship is expected to be tied up in Bordeaux, you're taken to the ship.
